Sports Therapist
Nicole has a First Class Honours BSc in Sports Therapy from Portobello Institute, accredited by London Metropolitan University.
Nicole began her journey in Colaiste Ide, Finglas, where she volunteered in St. James’ Hospital and with various G.A.A clubs to gain experience. Since then, she has worked with athletes across a multitude of sports including Hurling, Soccer and Gaelic Football; she is now the Head Therapist for Shelbourne Senior Women’s Team.
Nicole is trained in various different treatment modalities, including Deep Tissue Massage, Dry Needling, Trigger Point Therapy, Muscle Energy Techniques (MET’s), Mobilisations, Electrotherapy and Taping. She has a particular interest in ankle, knee and hip presentations and return to sport protocols.
It is important to Nicole to ensure that she treats people as a whole and is happy to take the time to collect an adequate history of the condition - she is no stranger to a chat during appointments!
“Prehab is better than Rehab” - Nicole focuses on strengthening, mobility and maintenance as a treatment approach to prevent re-injury in the future. Being able to go through life injury free is the goal, an improvement to performance is the achievement.
Nicole is a member of the Sports Therapy Association (Membership Number: STA4139) and the Irish Massage Therapy Association (Membership Number: 2398). Massage treatments delivered by Nicole could be subjected to reimbursements through Irish Life Health Insurance.
